Mitch Reynolds is a lifelong Duneland resident, a 2016 Chesterton High School graduate, and a Gary school teacher. A graduate of Purdue University Northwest, he teaches AP World History, Government, and Economics while mentoring students as sponsor of his school’s Dungeons & Dragons Club. He is also a proud member of the National Education Association.
Mitch has served on the Town of Porter’s Environmental Sustainability Commission and currently serves on the Stormwater Management Board. Through his work as an activist and advocate, he helped secure $1.5 million in medical debt relief for Region residents and volunteers as a judge for Chesterton High School Speech and Debate.

Students learn best when their basic needs are met. I will support initiatives that help ensure every child has what they need to succeed in the classroom.
Supporting Great Educators
Excellent schools begin with excellent teachers. I believe in working collaboratively with educators, listening to their expertise, and fostering positive relationships that help recruit, retain, and support outstanding teachers. This includes maintaining high teacher pay and support.
Every Student Belongs
Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcomed at school. I support creating learning environments where all students know they belong and are treated with dignity, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
Transparent, Thoughtful Leadership
School board decisions should be transparent, data-informed, and centered on what is best for students. I am committed to listening to families, staff, and community members before making important decisions.
Strong Schools, Strong Community
Public schools are one of our community’s greatest assets. By investing in students, supporting educators, and partnering with families, we strengthen the Duneland community.
